Northgard Relics

Overview

Relics are a special type of building and the central element of the second post-release major update. They allow players to benefit from special abilities or bonuses but need to be forged first by assigning Smith Smiths to a Forge.

  • A relic cost Kröwns 100, Wood 50 and Iron 10 and takes 8 months to be forged with two regular smiths. Once built, it needs to be placed in an area like a regular building.
  • It is not possible to build more than one relic per game. Only Svadilfari Horse clan can build a second one, by activating the Lore "Ancestral Influence".
  • Allies cannot build the same relic. It is not possible to use another player's relic, even if you colonize a zone containing a relic that your clan could build.
  • While some relics are common and can be built by any clan, others can only be built by one specific clan.
  • A relic cannot be removed or destroyed once built. The same goes to a relic in an area that has been colonized.

Common relics

In their October 2019 AMA, the developer team announced that more common relics may appear in the future.

Mjölnir
Mjölnir Mjölnir : Forging time is 50% faster.
When landing a strike, upgraded units have a 20% chance of summoning Mjölnir's wrath on their opponents.
Svalinn
Svalinn Svalinn : +50% defense for units in this zone. Can be moved into another zone within your territory. Protects the zone against some negative effects that target it.
Gefjun's Jar
Gefjun's Jar Gefjun's Jar : Population Happiness Happiness requriements are reduced by 20%. The more you have, the more your units' production is increased.
Bragaful
Bragaful Bragaful : You gain a Kröwns Kröwns bonus depending on your Commercial Influence Commercial Influence. Your Lighthouse has a fourth great trade route.
Jörmunr
Jörmunr Jörmunr : You gain a Lore Lore bonus depending on the number of zones in your territory. You can colonize zones with Lore Lore.

Clan specific relics

HlidskjalfStag round

Hlidskjalf Hlidskjalf : Allows you to recruit Einherjar Einherjar at Hlidskjalf. Powerful units consuming more Food Food but whose strength increases with the clan's Fame Fame.
As of the Swords and Solace update, the relic now instead allows you to train Einherjar by assigning them to Hlidskjalf Hlidskjalf.
EldhrumnirGoat round

Eldhrumnir Eldhrumnir : +20% Feast Feast bonus, -50% Feast Feast cost. Your units regenerate health during a Feast Feast. You can build an additional Sheepfold.
Horn of ManagarmWolf round

Horn of Managarm Horn of Managarm : Summons up to 3 White Wolves under your control for Food 50 Food each, with the cost being reduced by half if you build it in a Wolf Den tile. You can summon them every 2 months. 3 is the total maximum number; if you summon 3 wolves and lose 2 of them, next time the Horn of Managarm is off cooldown you will be able to summon only 2 wolves.
NaglfarRaven round

Naglfar Naglfar : Allows you to send two Son of Hrymr to raid coastal tiles.
Scabbard of GramBear round

Scabbard of Gram Scabbard of Gram : Your Warchief wields the sword Gram. Enemies hit by Gram are frozen, along with the area around them. Gives +10% attack, +10% defense to Borgild.
Mask of GullinburstiBoar round

Mask of Gullinbursti Mask of Gullinbursti : Produce +6 Food Food. You can pay 150 Lore Lore to summon one Giant Boar Giant Boar. It is controllable as long as it is not in combat.
GungnirSnake round

Gungnir Gungnir : All military units get 10% dodge chance. Unlocks the Stealth Stealth ability for all your military units.
Skull of HrungnirDragon round

Skull of Hrungnir Skull of Hrungnir : Summon an Draconic Jötunn Draconic Jötunn.
Dainsleif & TyrfingHorse round

Dainsleif & Tyrfing Dainsleif & Tyrfing : Gives your warchiefs, Eitria and Brok +20% Health, +20% Attack Power, +20% Def, +20% mining and +20% forge speed.
Edda of VörKraken round

Edda of Vör Edda of Vör : You can force the Kraken's Event. During Kraken's event, if any boat is destroyed you will receive resources.
AegirOx round

Aegir Aegir : Torfin Torfin can use Provocation : All enemy units and towers target Torfin Torfin during a short period and his defense is increased by 100% for 6 seconds.
GlepnirLynx round

Glepnir Glepnir : Allows you to place a trap in a non-enemy zone. Activate on demand to reveal spikes that damage and slow enemies for as long as they are in the zone. Lasts 30 seconds.
Yggdrasil rootSquirrel round

Yggdrasil root Yggdrasil's root : The zone where Yggdrasil's Root is built becomes “Eldritch". Every 4 months, another zone becomes eldritch. Units in Eldritch zones benefit from periodical production bonuses. Enemy units in an eldritch zone have a chance to pick a fight with their own kin for 5s.
Flame of MuspelheimRat round

Flame of Muspelheim Flame of Muspelheim : You can summon Garm's Incarnation Garm's Incarnation at a Shaman Camp Shaman Camp.
